The Hydro-Mechanical Drive-System:
The motion-sequence of the plunger-guided slide is initiated via the piston of the hydraulic drive cylinder which itself is activated by the adding of pressure
During the first sequence - the down-motion - the slide moves with high velocity, starting at the upper dead center.
As the working area is being approached, the second sequence is initiated: The motion slows down due to the kinematical design of the system. Additionally, the pressure stage is automatically adjusted to high-load as the resistance increases, and the slide moves into the bottom dead center with smooth slow speed.
The third sequence is the high-velocity upward motion as the slide moves toward the upper dead center again.
The exceptionally high velocity during up- and downstroke, allows high cycle rates despite the slow dive through the material. The latter is allowed by the high transmission ratio between hydraulic cylinder and tool.
